Afonso Dhlakama: Mozambique’s Terrorist Is Dead & Leaves a Trail of Destruction
History must not be rewritten, Afonso Dhlakama was not just an opposition leader he was a brutal murderer, terrorist and enemy of African people. Afonso Dhlakama was responsible for the loss of lives of millions of defenseless Africans during his 39 year reign of terror.
Dhlakama was an enemy of good African people, he takes his place in history among other warlords such as King Leopold II of Belgium who ruthlessly murdered millions of defenseless Africans. Dhlakama began his reign of terror in 1975, aided by the apartheid regimes of Rhodesia and South Africa that financed.
Renamo bandits were also known as Matsangaissa in the villages. Here is an abbreviated list of the Matsangaissa’s atrocities:
- Reign of terror spread across ordinary Mozambicans and even spreading into neighboring Zimbabwe
- Beat up and burnt Africans alive in pursuit of his own personal agenda.
- Planted landmines to kill African villagers
- His reign of terror led to the disappearances and detention of thousands of villagers
- Dhlakama destroyed all transportation networks such as roads and railroad to ensure that no commerce could take place in the country.
- They intentionally destroyed government infrastructure such as railroads and roads
- He tortured of victims in Gorongosa and Tete provinces
- Destroyed clinics and health care facilities to prevent people from seeking medical assistance
- Dhlakama his terrorist bandits regularly attacked buses transporting ordinary villagers
- The Matangaissa bandits mutilated the bodies of villagers by cutting off their legs, lips and ears
After 16 years of waging a civil war, Dhlakama realized he could not win so he launched a political makeover. He re-branded as the voice of the poor and an opponent of corruption. However, the sins of terror of this later day saint could not be wiped off from the memory of the millions who lost their family members at the hands of this terrorist.
Afonso Dhlakama left a trail of destruction as he fought an endless war against fellow Africans in the pursuit of power which he never attained. In 2016, Dhlakama agreed to sign a peace accord with the ruling FRELIMO party. However, Dhlakama never intended to fulfil the agreement because he never loved Mozambique and his people. He was an opportunist who was used by the Rhodesian and South African aparthied governments to massacre his own people.
The economic trail of destruction inflicted by Dhlakama ensured that Mozambique would become a permanent third world country. Today, Mozambique is one of the poorest countries in the world with a GDP per capita of $382.07 (2016). He murdered most of the human capital that could have built the Mozambican economy. Dhlakama supported the genocide of millions of Africans which aligned with the beliefs, ideology of white supremacy which seeks to eliminate the African race.

Finally someone telling the truth about Dhlakama. My friend’s family ran away but their neighbours had their ears & hands cut off using machete. He was not a hero. I am upset the government is giving him a state funeral.

Unfortunately the author doesn’t know what he’s wrote. Fortunately few people, if at all, will agree with him. The truth is very simple: during the civil war all the parts committed atrocities beyond our human imagination.
