The Case Against the LRA and its Religious Connections in the US
It came as no surprise that American right wing spokesman and demagogue Rush Limbaugh and as soon as he heard the name Lord’s Resistance Army assumed that this was a Christian organization. The rebel leaders have learned that using the name of the Lord regardless of your actions rouses sympathy in America. Thus the LRA has been at its diabolical tactics for 26 years. Jospeh Kony has stayed under the radar because after all these are just African children and usually the world does not care. Remember Charles Taylor and enablers such as Pat Robertson so it was not surprising that no one seemed to care that thousands and possibly millions of Ugandan children were slaughtered. “Evil triumphs where good men do nothing” and since 1985 the voices of the moral majority has been whispers but not enough to rock the boat and destabilize Kony’s reign of terror.
There is something to be said for these power hungry people who claim that God has spoken to them to do what clearly violates the bible. Joseph Kony has forced the separation of children from their parents and uses one of the worst forms of warfare; child soldiers and sex slaves. Fortunately now the spotlight is on Kony and his army where he can run but he cannot hide. It is well understood that Kony is sponsored by the human butcher and sponsor of terror Omar-Al-Bashir of Sudan in order to cause unrest in the independent country of Southern Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.
American President Barack Obama has sent 100 army officers to hunt down and eliminate this terrorist. Some may not be familiar with his tactics but his actions reveal he is the Adolf Hitler of our time. Every night we take for granted going to bed and our children sleeping in the next room, there are many parents who do not share that experience which is only so natural for us. These children are night time migrants, a totally heartbreaking experience; the following accounts are not for those of a nervous disposition:
“The perpetrators commit atrocities with such malevolence that even the most irreligious people familiar with their acts describe them as “unrestrained evil.” The targets of the butchery are children. They rape, mutilate, and kill them with a rapaciousness that staggers the imagination. Under threat of death, LRA child soldiers attack villages, shooting and cutting off people’s lips, ears, hands, feet, or breasts, at times force-feeding the severed body parts to victims’ families. Some cut open the bellies of pregnant women and tear their babies out. Men and women are gang-raped. As a warning to those who might report them to Ugandan authorities, they bore holes in the lips of victims and padlock them shut. Victims are burned alive or beaten to death with machetes and clubs. The murderous task is considered properly executed only when the victim is mutilated beyond recognition and his or her blood spatters the killer’s clothing.” J. Carter Johnson
“Right now estimates show that the LRA numbers are between 250-400 individuals. They are responsible for the abduction and murder of thousands. Their victims have been some of the most ignored and under-protected individuals in modern history, and America’s lead in protecting them is a deeply moving statement to the world. This is a very evil man, Rush Limbaugh does not even understand the extent of the atrocities he has committed. He thinks he is a God unto himself. God Bless those who are working to make a difference
