Tanzanian miner Saniniu Laizer has become a millionaire in Magufuli’s Tanzania. Something that could not have been achieved by ordinary Tanzanians a few years ago. Back in the day the wealthy were foreign investors. Thanks to the empowerment policies of Magufuli ordinary Tanzanians got access to the lucrative mining sector not as employees but as investors and owners. As an owner Laizer was able to mine and sell two Tanzanite gemstones these were the largest ever found in Tanzania. The gemstones sold for 7.7 billion Tanzanian shillings ($3.4 million USD. This is an amazing achievement to a miner who has started his mining business a few years ago.
