South Africa Dominates England to win World Cup Rugby
Congratulations to South Africa’s Rugby team for winning the World Cup in Japan! The South African rugby team met England in the 2019 World Cup rugby tournament in Japan and it was clearly the clash of the giants. South Africa dominated England; resulting in a classy 32-12 victory over Brexit worn England.
In true English fashion the English were sore losers displaying unsportsmanlike behavior at the medal presentation. They refused to wear their silver medals. Their anger at their own incompetence and of course being defeated by the Africans was too much for these descendants of British imperialists.
The South African team the Springboks mastered the game of rugby and prevailed over England. The lesson here being that mastery of a field can enable Africans to dominate more than just rugby but science, technology, business and innovation.
There was flawless execution of the team strategy led by South Africa’s first black captain Siya Kolisi since 1995. Another painful reminder that apartheid structures are still alive and well in modern day South Africa. Makazole Mapimpi ran through to score South Africa’s side’s first try. Tendai Mtawarira’s presence on the Springbok team is significant because the story of South Africa’s victory is incomplete without talking about the Zimbabwean contribution to South Africa’s success. In light of xenophobia attacks against foreigners, here is a reminder that foreigners are contributing to the South Africa’s global prominence not just in sports but throughout the South African structures.
Across townships, cities and villages South Africans are celebrating the win of hope and of better things to come in the Southern African country. South Africa reasserted its supremacy over England. A foreshadowing that if Africans can dominate in rugby then they can dominate England in business and science and technology in the 21st century. In the words of South Africa’s President “We are Champions” This is the same champion energy which will enable Ramaphosa to redistribute the land to make South Africa a more equitable country.
